Overview

To provide support to the Employee Relations team and the business as a whole, ensuring that consistent standards are adopted across all elements of HR. Providing a timely and accurate support service to the Company. Assist the Senior Employee Relations Specialists in building relations with client groups and where appropriate working with the line managers in relations to specific HR issues Respond to queries sent to the Employee Relations mailbox analyse trends and suggest improvements to reduce number of queries Responding to employee queries on HR policy and legislation Provide a high quality and timely support to the Employee Relations team and the business Provide administrative support when required In conjunction with the Employee Relations team review and improve HR processes and documentation Provide accurate and up to date management information as required by the Employee Relations team and line managers e.g. absence, recognition, turnover etc. Review update and reissue the Employee Handbook Provide advice on employment legislation and its practical application in relation to specific situations/tasks Ensure HR matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and Company requirements Assist the Senior Employee Relations Specialists to review disciplinary and grievance cases, which may include preparation of letters and note-taking in meetings Assist the Senior Employee Relations Specialists to actively manage performance of employees in conjunction with managers Assist the Senior Employee Relations Specialists to manage sickness issues in partnership with the business ensuring best practice obligations are met and offer guidance around Company sick pay policy and when to use discretion Assist Senior Employee Relations Specialists in supporting managers with the probation process ensuring if probations are extended or failed it is for consistent and fair reasons Assist the Senior Employee Relations Specialists to manage flexible working requests and shared parental leave in line with the company policy Carry out exit interviews where necessary To carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed Essential Experience within a HR environment, dealing with employee and manager queries Excellent communication skills - written and oral Ability to manage own workload efficiently and effectively and to plan and prioritise appropriately Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel Desirable CIPD qualified to a level 3/or willing to study. Expected to study to level 7. Experience within HR for Financial Services Company Good understanding of HR policy and employment law legislation Ability to take accurate notes Ability to recognise when an issue is high risk/complex and therefore escalate
