Overview
Working within the Altus Group Expert Services team, our Placement Students will embark on a 1 year opportunity to further their knowledge within the Commercial Real Estate industry. Primarily the opportunity will provide exposure to rating taxation and lease consultancy. The role is client facing and you will benefit from working with a wide-ranging client base. You will gain hands-on experience and take on significant responsibility that will contribute to your final year studies. During the placement year you will: Shadow a Surveyor for a 4-6-week period to provide you with hands on experience as soon as possible Have a Placement Buddy who will provide personalised support, they will help you get to grips with daily tasks, systems and coach you in any other areas you're not quite sure on Undertake property inspections including offices, industrial, retail, leisure facilities and more Conduct Rental and Lease reviews and produce summaries Case preparation for Business Rate appeals including production of Check & Challenge documentation and submitting checks to the Valuation Office The Placement Year will also provide you with 12 months of experience which will be eligible to submit in support of your APC. Following on from our Placement year several students have gone on to join Altus Group full-time upon their graduation and we're keen to continue this in future years Requirements Undergraduate on a RICS accredited Real Estate degree (or equivalent) Can commit to a 12-month placement year commencing in summer 2020 (start date flexible) Written and verbal fluency in English Must be able to secure own accommodation close to our Heathrow office location for the placement year Full UK driving licence, with access to own vehicle Strong verbal and written communication skills Self-motivation and excellent time management skills Ability to analyse and interpret data and make informed decisions
