Overview

Our client are a multimillion turnover (c£50m) chemical business based in Falkirk, a diverse business with 4 divisions/value streams, the largest being contract chemical manufacturing. We are recruiting for an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to provide professional leadership to my client’s corporate, manufacturing and services operations, ensuring compliance with business and legislative requirements. To also, develop, maintain and improve cost effective maintenance strategies that will enhance plant reliability. Key responsibilities Provide direct leadership and mentoring for the engineering teams Management of organisational change/MOC Ensure the highest possible engineering standards are delivered within the wider engineering community, commensurate with business needs Develop, implement, review and improve cost effective maintenance and asset management strategies that meet business objectives Owner of the engineering budgets with accountability for supporting the development of the engineering budgets and leading the ongoing review and maintenance of robust norms including interrogation of engineering budgets for cost improvements Provide professional engineering and project management support to capital and revenue projects as required, influencing project teams to ensure that plant needs are delivered Assist in the development, implementation, review and active management of Process safety Performance Indicators (PSPI), to ensure engineering safety is maximised throughout the site Assist in the development, monitoring and review of live Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to drive continuous improvement in engineering and planning processes Specify and verify competency requirements of engineering work Direct project management of minor projects Requirements Chartered Engineer, or working towards Chartered status Several year knowledge and experience working within a COMAH environment Ability to identify, interpret and translate key legislation into site policy and procedure Knowledge and understanding of the application of major international design codes and guidance Ability to prepare and deliver technical verbal and written communication as appropriate for shop floor to board level, as well as to external regulators, contractors and clients Suitable IT Skills (MS Office) Commercial and contract awareness Working knowledge of control, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical and civil disciplines Degree qualified in an engineering or management discipline In return my client is offering a competitive salary and a market leading benefits package.
