Abbott Diabetes Care provides innovative blood glucose monitoring systems for people with diabetes. As an Engineering placement intern in Witney, you will work in a modern, highly automated state of the art manufacturing facility. RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary function for this role is being a key part of the engineering team supporting the Abbott Diabetes Care operations function. Engineering at Abbott covers a range of engineering disciplines so we are looking for someone who is willing to be a part of a highly-skilled team delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges in a highly automated manufacturing process. + Responsible for working within the Operations Engineering team providing support to Senior Engineers on projects and tasks within agreed constraints of time, cost and quality + To assist with validation and operation of production equipment, proposing solutions to issues as they arise, implementing and documenting under supervision. + Contribute to the development and validation of software applications. + To ensure that system changes are introduced according to the required standards and procedures with appropriate use of the Software Life Cycle (SLC) and change control processes. + Work could include developing test protocols, running trials on manufacturing equipment, creating models, collecting and analysing data and writing reports. All documentation must be completed in compliance with site, Corporate and external regulatory requirements. + Responsible for maintaining and recording a recognised standard of training throughout the internship + Responsible for developing, maintaining and promoting good working relationship within engineering team and with other departments + Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for EHS performance and compliance through active participation and support of Abbotts EHS Program. + Responsible for maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System at the site and ensuring activities are conducted in compliance with divisional and corporate requirements and all applicable regulations. REQUIREMENTS: + Studying for an engineering related degree + PC literate - able to use MS Word and Excel. + Practical skills - able to run trials and follow documented instructions within the Medical Device Compliance environment. + Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and communicate across levels of the organisation To apply, please submit your CV and cover letter.
