Overview
Planning department at this commercial law firm in London is seeking to recruit two Planning Solicitors/ Barristers – one of 1 to 4 years’ PQE/Call and the other of 5 or more years’ PQE/Call. Our client’s Government and Infrastructure team specialise in planning, regulatory and public law, with a particular emphasis on nationally significant infrastructure planning. They work on some of the largest and most significant infrastructure projects in the UK. Furthermore, they also advise public sector bodies on a variety of public and parliamentary law issues and there are four Roll A Parliamentary Agents within the department. The successful Solicitors or Barristers will work as a Planning lawyers within the Planning law team and work will include projects for a major energy company and infrastructure providers (particularly rail, light rail and electricity). Infrastructure projects will also involve programming and implementation of compulsory purchase powers provided by way of Transport Works Act Orders, Compulsory Purchase Orders and Development Consents using the General Vesting Declaration (GVD) process and by consensual transfer under the notice to treat/notice of entry procedure. You will also advise public bodies on administrative law, statutory interpretation and regulatory issues arising in an infrastructure context.
