Job Title: Female Personal Assistant/ Personal Care/ Support Worker Location: Ford nr. Littlehampton Hourly rate : £9.50 weekdays, £12.50 Weekends Reference: DP79 Hours/shifts: These are my already filled hours Mon to Fri 8am to 1pm 4pm to 6pm 8pm to 930pm Then I need:- Every Tuesday 8am to 1pm 4pm to 6pm Saturday 9am to 1pm (alternate weekends for this shift) Every Saturday 4pm to 6pm 8pm to 930pm Every Sunday 10am to 1pm 4pm to 6pm 8pm to 930pm These are my unfilled hours and as you can see from all of the hours, there will always be holidays to cover Summary I served Queen and country for eight years of which I am very proud. It’s a shame it seems such a long time ago. Oh yes that’s cos it was I joined up in 1988 I was diagnosed with MS at 25 years old and am now pretty much quadriplegic (I’m not typing this) I need a bit more help please. Other Requirements • "Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9." • Must be happy to work in a smoking environment • Must have a UK driving licence • Must have access to own vehicle • Other : I always need to be hoisted from bed to wheelchair and back again. I need aid with toileting, washing and dressing. I’m hoping someone is available and preferably has some experience All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts. Description Typical duties Domestic - Loading and unloading dishwasher Preparing drinks, snacks and meals Any other reasonable task Personal Care: Washing and bathing/showering - towelling dry/ drying hair Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required To be on call when employer takes bath/Shower Assistance with applying cream General hair/skin care Catheter care Assisting with Bowel evacuation Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings Assistance with getting out of bed using a hoist Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat Person specification The successful applicant will be: Female/ due to personal care needs Able to tolerate the employer smoking in the work place Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality Reliable with good time-keeping Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills Honest and cheerful Creative Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
