Full time hours available for an experienced support worker in residential autism setting - Weaverham Your new company I am working with an award winning company that provides services for young people and adults with autism. Hays are working closely with this company to provide shift cover for sicknesses, annual leave and staff shortages. Working for Hays will give you the flexibility to choose the hours you want as well as give you the opportunity for permanent work if you get on well. Your new role A support worker's job is varied and changes depending on the shift you are covering. You will support service users with their day to day life and activities. During the day you will support with independent life skills, taking out for activities such as bike rides, swimming, maybe a dance at the local disco. If you are working the night shift, you will assist service users with their bed time routine, support with any needs during the night and carry out basic domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry. What you'll need to succeed You must have experience working in complex autism services. This can be a challenging service to work in so you will be a confident support worker who is calm in escalating situations. You will ideally drive as the services can be difficult to get to on public transport. You will be flexible to pick up different shifts including working weekends where possible.
