Overview
Circa £45ph (PAYE) Initial 6-month contract (may be extended) London office based - 2 onsite visits per month We are on the hunt for an experienced Design Engineer to join a leading Power Distribution Network Operator in the East/South East of the UK. In this role, you will provide design development and assistance on a range of current capital projects, ranging from £800,000 up to £70 million. Working with various clients, you'll be expected to generate designs which not only meet specifications but also save costs as much as possible. You'll work to ensure any design faults or improvements are identified as early as possible, working with client's on site to get practical feedback. Duties will include: Product designs in compliance with CDM requirements Preparation of tenders and quotations from specifications Ensure designs eliminate any hazards with may lead to risk Ensure designs product sufficient information about structure or site (Ground quality, water etc.) Experience needed: Strong knowledge of the relevant UK standards and legislation is key, including CDM, along with strong awareness of working to health and safety regulations. At least 5 years' experience in essential, specifically working with Power Distribution/Transmission. Experience in Rail, Telecoms or similar is NOT what my client is looking for. The successful candidate with need a degree in Engineering, ideally power engineering and will also ideally be a chartered engineer.
