Lead Engineer Launceston, Cornwall No Agencies What are we looking for? We’re looking for an exceptional individual to join an exceptional team. We are looking for a person that can utilise their specific engineering discipline, leverage their broad understanding of other engineering areas to deliver scale-up projects, deploy new manufacturing techniques and make improvements to existing processes. We need someone to work collaboratively with our world-class Innovation Lead, Production & Projects Manager, COO and CEO. We need someone who will ensure our internal, UK and EU innovation projects deliver value for our company, by: - working at lab scale to de-risk scale-up - scaling new products to production scale - designing and implementing new production processes - identifying productivity improvement opportunties We’ve created this new role to provide a primary focus for our engineering capability, using external resources where necessary. The person we’re looking for is likely to have a Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering background, but able to work across other engineering disciplines and call them in when required. The person will have to manage multiple and potentially diverse projects. Working with other team members, this person will ensure the right things get done at the right time in the right way – every time. We expect this person will have a background in the chemical or other manufacturing industries, with a track record in process scale-up, engineering R&D, working in multi-disciplinary teams, in collaboration with customers and partners. What will you do? We can modify the job to the person we find – we’re looking for great people - but key elements of the job are: Key aspects of the role: · To operate in a manner compatible with the Company’s Safety, Health and Environment Policy and Procedures · To direct and execute the Company’s engineering projects in the development of new products and processes · To identify and manage external engineering support as required · To support the development of the Company’s plans and strategies as part of the Management Team · To work across production, customer support and innovation programmes. Ideal Candidate Profile · Graduate or Post-graduate qualifications or equivalent experience in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering · A demonstrated ability to work across scientific and engineering disciplines · Experience of leading scale-up projects, taking small scale-processes to pilot and production scale · A proven ability to appreciate other technical disciplines and identify when they are required · A driven and goal-oriented individual · A proven ability to meet project timescales and budgets · Due to the nature of the chemicals we use we are only able to employ non-smokers.
