Overview
The Company Nigel Wright is pleased to be working with a high volume FMCG manufacturer based in the Billingham area, to recruit a Maintenance Contracts Manager. The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Contracts Manager will be responsible for ensuring all third party vendors are vetted prior to arriving on site, managed whilst on site, and work reviewed following completion. This role focuses on the third party contractors on site, across facilities and manufacturing, but will also provide support where necessary to the plant Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities include: Ensures all engineering and maintenance activities on site exceed the appropriate health and safety standards. Management and delivery of the weekly Maintenance works schedule. Managing and controlling all day to day maintenance activities on site delivered by external services/contractors. Hold regular contractor reviews with major external services/contractors to site to review performance on site, and what improvement opportunities are available. Manage the external suppliers/ contractors to ensure work is completed to the agreed budget, and maximize expenditure effectiveness for minimum unplanned production downtime and maximum workplace efficiency. The Person The successful candidate will have: Engineering qualification to HND level or equivalent Experience in a similar role in a manufacturing, process or engineering environment Experience of contract negotiations and day to day dealings with external services/contractors This is an excellent opportunity to join a proactive engineering team, in a permanent plant based role.
