Overview

Adoption Social Worker (permanent role) Based South Yorkshire Up to £34,000 per annum depending on experience My client is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Qualified Social Worker to support them in the next exciting stage of development of their adoption services. This is an exciting time to join a highly successful adoption agency. This post will mainly focus on Recruitment & Assessment of Adopters and you will be part of an enthusiastic and experienced team working closely with colleagues across children's services and working in partnership with external agencies. The post holder will be expected to complete his/her duties to the standards and timescales as defined by current Adoption Agencies Regulations, National Minimum Standards and Statutory Practice Guidance. You will be required to follow all Agency policies and procedures and to comply with all Social Work England registration standards. Duties will include: Completing Prospective Adopter Reports, matching and post placement support. Delivering workshops and preparation training. Recruitment activities in the community and via social media The team also compile reports for the court in respect of Non-agency adoption applications. The successful candidate will: Have worked in a childcare environment Understand the needs of looked after children Have good assessment skills Have full driving licence Have a qualification in Social Work to degree level or equivalent (e.g. BSc, BA, MA, CQSW, DipSW) Be registered with Social Work England (SWE). Adoption experience useful but not essential, therapeutic training would be advantageous but there will be opportunities to undertake this whilst working for our client.
