We are an award- winning, global company looking for a talented System Engineer to be based in our London office. What will you be doing? You will use your knowledge and experience gained so far to build, maintain and trouble-shoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure. As our System Engineer you will be able to work closely with the development team and will be responsible for supporting a proprietary low latency distributed system and application used for sportsbooks. You will be working with a highly motivated, talented and experienced SAS team on projects with immediate business impact. Your Responsibilities: To Provide Level 2 support, coordinate problem resolution among a variety of functional areas and provide subject matter expertise support Configuring, implementing and monitoring Pinnacle’s applications using tools like - Splunk, AppDynamics Application Performance Monitoring, TeamCity, Octopus, OpsGenie and others. Configuring, implementing and monitoring of VMware vSphere with vCenter and VMware Horizon using tools like: VMware Operations Management, Turbonomic (VM-Turbo), Veeam One Backup Solution. Establishing and maturing 2nd level application response function like Sev-1 issue. Managing active IT incidents and driving the root cause to the closure. Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve best performance and reliability of the system. Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and standards Maintaining confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network. Managing small to medium sized projects according to agree upon budgets and schedules. The qualifications and skills you will need to have: A degree in either Networking, Computer Science or a related subject (or equivalent). Experience with JIRA, Microsoft Exchange Server, Server tools such as HP iLO, CMS Joomla, Linux, VMWare Datacenter Virtualization, just to name a few. Technical knowledge of Cloud and External Security. Strong analytic, conceptual and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Customer oriented mind-set with good ability to manage customer expectations. Flexible and able to adapt to operational requirements and priority changes. Well organized, good communication and reporting skills. Ability to work individually and as part of a team. Proven ability to prioritise multiple projects Influencing skills and a pragmatic approach How will you be measured?
