Axco is one of them With more than 50 years’ experience in researching and publishing industry intelligence on insurance and employee benefits information, Axco is the definitive information source for professionals in these markets around the world. Main Purpose of Role Our Global Risk Intelligence and Data (GRID) team provides valuable actionable intelligence on global risk to Axco’s clients and partners in the fields of insurance and risk management. It also identifies and builds communities around emerging risks, acting as an independent and impartial industry mutual which promotes debate and analysis to mitigate these exposures. As the manager of the GRID Team, you will be responsible for growing Axco’s presence in the fields of risk and risk management. You will manage workflow and personal performance of a team of researchers/analysts, representing Axco in the marketplace, and determins which risk clusters (i.e climate, technology, terrorism, supply chains) the team will prioritise going forward. The GRID manager’s responsibilities include producing political and economic risk assessments for Axco’s core clients and political risk community, developing and delivering Axco’s annual thought leadership agenda, and identifying and working to build new risk management tools in response to client demand. The GRID manager will also act as an ambassador for Axco in the risk and insurance marketplace, helping to build a robust network of partners to aid in research and market development. The desk/market split is expected to be approximately 80/20. Skills and Experience Required - An advanced degree (MA or above) in political science, international relations, development finance or economics - Strong knowledge of political risk and/or political economy - A compelling and confident public speaking or presenting style - An exceptional communicator and relationship-builder - A passion for creativity - The ability to work autonomously - Extensive research capabilities - An ability to write in English to the highest level - Reading comprehension in a foreign language (Arabic, French, Spanish, Russian or Mandarin advantageous) - Up to date knowledge in the area of political risk and/or political economy - Experience of insurance risk management techniques - An impressive track record of public speaking or presenting - Exceptional stakeholder management - Be highly organised "We are committed to equality, equality of opportunity and valuing diversity"
