Overview
Our Canary Wharf based on client in the Tech/Financial Services sector is on the lookout for their first part time HR professional to help them grow their UK operation. This is a permanent part time role where the 20 hours could be worked over 3 or 5 days to suit you. The full time equivalent salary would be £35,000 to £40,000 which would then be pro-rated for the hours worked. What does the role entail? As the HR Specialist you will work alongside the Talent Manager reporting in to the CEO and CFO who are based in the USA and help them to grow their UK operation over the coming months in their newly sourced Canary Wharf office. Working remotely for the next month or so you will support the business with everything HR from start to finish, whether that is the implementation of UK policies and procedures, helping to on-board new employees, sending formal offers and contracts through to hopefully in the distant future exit interviews and everything in the employee lifecycle in-between. You will also support with Payroll looking after the HR entry side of things and a variety of other HR duties including ER as and when it arises and other ad hoc HR Projects too. This role is in its infancy so is likely over time to possess all of the responsibilities of a HR Generalist or stand-alone HR Manager. What skills will you have? To be considered for this HR Specialist role you will have carried out a role similar to that listed above maybe as a stand-alone HR Manager or maybe as a HR Generalist or Senior HR Advisor. Ypou will be up to speed with UK Employment Law knowledge and be capable of amending policies and procedures. You will be a progressive thinker who can bring ideas to the table in order to help the company scale up its UK operation. If you have started or completed your CIPD qualifications or another relevant HR qualification this would be advantageous. The client is open to sector background however if you have worked within Financial Services or Fintech within an SME this would be an advantage, as would experience within either a start-up, scale up or high growth business. You will be a self-starter who can happily work remotely but who could also get easily in to Canary Wharf too. You must be able to interview straight away and ideally start within the next 1-2 weeks. You must also be happy and eligible to travel to the headquarters in the USA 2 times per year (when travel restrictions have been lifted) What is on offer? On offer for this permanent part time HR Specialist is 20 hours per week which can be flexibly worked over 3-5 days as well as a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 pro-rated.
