Senior Network Engineer
Overview
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join us at Checkit in Fleet, Hampshire. As a Senior Network Engineer at Checkit, your responsibilities will include: Researching, documenting and planning requirements as they relate to the company’s IT and communications systems infrastructure identifying the company’s future IT and communications systems development goals. Designing, building, maintaining and documenting functional, secure and highly available networks across office, data centre and cloud environments. Configuring and installing hardware and software ensuring all devices communicate with each other as dictated by policy. Taking responsibility for maintaining and updating IT security policies in line with emerging threats and changing working practices. Ensuring all infrastructure work adheres to company security policies and accreditations. Adhering to maintenance, auditing and business continuity responsibilities as outlined in the IT Schedule. Monitoring Network and IT infrastructure performance across company estate. Mentoring and training other members of the company in relation to computer networking and security. Working with the Technical Manager to regularly update the master project development plan ensuring that the development plan rapidly adapts to the changing priorities of our customers. Identifying potential issues with the IT system, to keep relevant personnel informed as to the nature and potential impact of issues as they arise and to take necessary action to ensure the mitigation of disruption to the company’s normal business. Working with the team to ensure the IT system remains virus free and fully recoverable. Assisting with the setup, configuration and maintenance of company production servers. Assisting with the maintenance of production databases ensuring data confidentiality integrity and availability. Adhering to the company’s standard quality statements and procedures and, where appropriate to make suggestion to the Technical manager as to their improvement. Ensuring that any documentation produced meets the standards set down by the Technical manager and that any documentation is maintained securely in paper and electronic formats. Identify training requirements or deficiencies adversely affecting your ability to achieve these requirements proposed and then discussed them with the Technical manager. At Checkit, we are looking for a Senior Network Engineer who has the following skills and experiences: An active CCNP certification. Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP. VOIP Knowledge and experience. Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools. Experience with firewall technologies and VPN. Experience with virtualisation technologies. Experience working with ISO27001 standards.
