Overview

Role : Data Modeller Contract Length : Permanent RTM are recruiting on behalf of our major Financial Services client based in their iconic offices in Central London. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Modeller to join the business on a Permanent basis. The Data Modeller will liaise with the business, analysts, architects, developers/engineers, project managers and other stakeholders to gather requirements which will be augmented by business policy and domain legislation. Required skills within this role include :- An expert modeller with strong technical skills and experience in knowledge engineering (ontology) and domain modelling (with tools like Protégé, TopBraid or Visual-Paradigm). Experience of modelling large complex domains with a combination of complex regulatory and operational requirements Strong analytical, requirements gathering, communication skills, and ability to work in a cross-functional, multi-disciplined team environment. A willingness to challenge and innovate Being able to think in terms of 'capability, service and process' to enable the building of meaningful, repeatable and reusable artefacts High level of business acumen and savvy, to help understand how the concepts and models can really affect and support the business Ability to function in a cross functional team and communicate with technical and non-technical peers and managers. Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical documents Demonstrates clear leadership skills and the ability to influence and persuade Providing proof of concept scripts and workflows to support engineering processes Understanding of the existing business processes and organisation specific to financial institutions Experienced in providing trusted advice and consultancy to senior technical and business colleagues with authority, credibility and confidence Experience of modelling in regulated or legislated domains (preferably insurance or banking) Sound knowledge of risk assessment, change management, configuration management, reliability and safety/security methods and the use of metrics.
