Overview
IT Security Engineer Purpose of the role To ensure the confidentiality, availability and integrity of the company’s information and systems by engineering, implementing, monitoring and reporting on security controls appropriate to meet the assurance requirements of the organisation. This is an exciting time to join as they will be moving into a brand-new building in 2020. This role will need to ensure the appropriate levels of security are built into the networks and IT infrastructure. Key accountabilities: • Deploy, maintain and report on the effectiveness of security controls relevant to the business on-premises and hosted IT estate • Contribute to and maintain IT’s disaster recovery capabilities • Maintain a current knowledge of security trends, threats and vulnerabilities • Act as a point of contact in IT for security related matters • Make continuous improvements to the security position of the IT estate • Investigate and deploy mitigations to known and emerging vulnerabilities • Assist with the assessment of security aspects of future proposed projects • Ensure software and hardware patches and updates are applied in accordance with relevant policies • Ensure timely creation/application of certificates across all domains • Manage change process for RFC’s, report incidents and take ownership until completion • Ensure systems have full and tested backup and restore capability.
