Job Summary This role will be instrumental in shaping and driving key strategic and operational decisions within the Distribution organisation through provision of robust, comprehensive and insightful financial analysis and business cases. By establishing strong relationships with the Distribution teams, this person will act as both a business partner and a financial leader whose analysis will ensure we consistently drive operational efficiencies as well as confirm that future investments will deliver TJX’s required rate of return. This position demands the ability to understand TJX’s end-to-end off price business model while being able to link the impact of operational performance to financial results. Key Responsibilities • Facilitate project and investment prioritisation by ensuring all projects are challenged and have a sufficient business case that is financially viable whilst providing ongoing finance support to project teams • Provide cohesive analytical support on ad hoc analyses that drive strategic and operational decisions • Provide financial insight as we develop our long-term distribution strategies required to support the growth of the TJX Europe business • Continually challenge current thinking and make recommendations on how to optimise operations and minimise risk/cost to the business • Develop an Investment Appraisal model for Distribution to ensure all of business cases are accurate, consistent and aligned • Evaluate and report actual versus planned outcomes of key Distribution initiatives (i.e Execute Supply Chain Efficiencies, Continuous Improvement Initiatives) and be able to demonstrate impact on the Distribution P&L • Continue to develop an ROI focussed culture in the Distribution organisation • Continue to improve Distribution capital management/reporting and streamline capital approval process • Facilitate the budgeting / forecasting and long-range planning process for the Distribution Finance team • Be an independent, credible and challenging finance partner to support the delivery of business goals • Manage the Distribution finance team, providing support for their development and exposure to multi-functions across the business Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience • Accounting qualification, MBA, or similar commercial finance analysis experience • Strong business modelling skills • A proven track record of delivering results to deadlines • Previous experience of developing and managing people/teams • High level of initiative, curiosity and drive • A flexible attitude and forward thinking, combined with an analytical approach to problem solving and acute commercial awareness • Excellent communication skills across all levels are essential and must have well developed influencing skills to achieve desired outcomes • Experience within a consumer facing business (Retail/FMCG) desirable • Experience in distribution and logistics will be desirable • European language skills advantageous Come and Discover Different at TJX.
