Overview
Role: ICT Security Technical Lead Location: Leek Wootton, Warwickshire Salary £38,000 - £40,698 Please also note that all candidates must have UK residency for the last 5 years for vetting purposes. Our client within the public services sector are on an exciting journey to return to being an independent force by spring 2021. This brings with it significant opportunities to establish their own operational ICT team and thereafter to transform our ICT to provide efficient, effective and modern services to their staff and officers. We are looking for a range of experienced and enthusiastic ICT professionals to help build the team and contribute to strategic improvements. Purpose of role: The main purpose of the role is to ensure that our clients ICT systems, services, and underlying technology are designed, built, tested, and maintained to nationally set policing security standards Main Responsibilities: To provide expert technical security advice and associated assurance to all ICT-based projects and other technical ICT activities To be the professional lead on technical security on behalf of the Head of ICT, and represent our client externally on matters of ICT security, including linking with NPIRMT and other national bodies To participate in and constructively contribute to internal security forums, ensuring that ICT security actions are aligned to organisational priority and need To develop and maintain ICT security architectures, protocols, operating procedures, and a register of active security controls To ensure that technical security measures in place for our ICT systems are aligned to nationally set policing security standards To work with the Information Security Manager to provide technical input for accreditation required as part of access to secure policing and/or government environments To support the ICT Operational Services Manager on ICT continuity and recovery testing and associated activities To provide technical specifications and be the primary liaison for independent technical security health checks (penetration testing), taking ICT Security Responsibility for ensuring the timely implementation of agreed remedial actions To ensure that the organisation has effective tools in place for intrusion detection and prevention To lead the technical investigation of any cyber-security incidents impacting our clients ICT To develop the security knowledge and understanding of all ICT colleagues at a level appropriate to their role To support Information Security colleagues with any education/awareness initiatives, providing input on matters related to technical security To undertake impact assessments of new legislation, threats, ICT suppliers, and solutions, and to initiate new or changed ICT security controls, protocols or procedures.
