Overview
Role: Software Support Engineer Salary: £20,000-£25,000 per annum depending on experience Location: Sheffield Our client are a specialist software business who have been trading for over 25 years. The role: Primarily telephone, email and over the web support via TeamViewer to customers using the sales software package and complimentary applications. In addition you will have to answer questions regarding computer issues such as printers and graphics card driver installation. Initially the support will be to customers in the US but after circa 5 months this will revert back to a UK customer base. Whilst supporting the US customers the working hours will typically be 12:00 to 20:00 Monday to Friday reverting to 8:30 to 17:00 once dealing with the UK customer base. The successful candidate: The candidate must be an articulate, good communicator, with good computer skills. Patience and an easy telephone manner are paramount in dealing with a diverse customer base with limited computer knowledge. 1 year of front line support to a software product would be ideal. Technologies: Experience of MS Office - Email, Excel and Word. All flavours of Windows 7, 8 and 10 (knowledge of your way around) An understanding of fire wall and anti-virus software would be useful. Glu Recruit are an equal opportunities employer.
