An excellent opportunity has arisen for an individual to join as Head of Delivery – Strategic Land and Naval in the Thales UK Optronics & Missile Electronics (OME) organisation, contributing to the on-going development of the Land, Naval and Air products and services business line. This coming year has potential to be one of our most successful years with a current strong order book to deliver to as well as a number of significant orders we are anticipating to secure. The Head of Delivery, Strategic Land and Naval will effectively provide input into the Business Area, regarding the development and management of all projects, products and services in respect of the business area. The post holder will be responsible for: All Project (Customer and Self-Funded R&D) Deliverables of the Domain’s Business. Project Sales, Cash flow and Margin to budgets On time performance of customer and internal deliverables including all project milestones. The Domain’s Project Planning, Reporting and Reviews Ensuring integrity of project plans, firm demand and project financial forecast Defining MPS input for Manufacturing requirements (through Work Cell / Production Manager) Timely issue of Project Dashboards and quality / integrity of presentation of projects at project reviews Coordination and preparation for major reviews Chairing major project reviews for all Domain projects including Launch, MTB and Close Out reviews. Chairing meetings with designated major sub-contractors. Domain IBP Chairing of Domain Firm and Forecast Demand Reviews. Ensuring the integrity of the IBP Firm and Forecast Demand Data. Attendance at Business Line level Demand Reviews Identifying resource required for business delivery. Working with discipline headsto secure the required resource Coordination of the allocated resource and managing resource conflict Issues. Management of customer complaints. Receipt, registering and reporting of complaints. Resolution and completion of actions. Communications with customer. Providing business support to Domain OI Identifying and expediting opportunity for additional business within current projects. Support the Gate processas required Review of Tech Vets and CCRs prior to Gate 2 Presentation of cost and planning material at Gate 2 At all times Domain compliance with chorus Representing the domain and Head of Domain as requested Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Personal Qualities Thales is a growing company and we are looking for exceptional people with positive, can do attitudes, to join our challenging journey providing engineering and service solutions to a diverse range of customers. In addition, below are some of the skills, experience and personal attributes we are looking for: Degree in Business or Engineering discipline, equivalent relevant professional qualification or relevant experience gained from within a Management Engineering environment and Service, Programme delivery. Knowledge of Service Management concepts, standards and frameworks. Innovative in defining solutions and optimising processes and systems. Strong customer focus and dedication to team work and exceptional standards of delivery. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex matters to other technical and non-technical audiences in a compelling manner. The ability to work proactively, within a defined framework, with a minimum of direct supervision, highly motivated in the discharge of responsibilities and accountabilities Broad defence experience with in-depth knowledge of the operational and business risks impacting the industry. Demonstrably excellent senior management skills and behaviours especially in the areas of leadership of their teams. The ability to communicate in a clear and engaging manner promoting the flow of information needed to be successful, building commitment and enthusiasm. In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
