Lead Programme Engineering Manager - AISR - CONTRACT Broughton Summary The Lead Program Engineering Manager role encompasses engineering management on major modification and development projects across the range of Raytheon’s AISR business. Main Duties Responsible for the oversite of Engineering activities across the function section reporting to the Head of AISR Engineering Representing the Head Engineering at local level Leadership Team meetings as required reporting status and flowing down LT briefs Day to day management of programme development with support from staff based across the engineering function who’s skill profiles include: design, systems, Electrical/Avionics, Requirements, Mechanical Design Software Developers, Systems Engineers and Design Authorities Close liaison with Technical Leads to ensure technical integrity of programmes Responsible for programme adherence to schedule Manage cost adherence to the programme budgets, using ‘earned value’ techniques Cost Account Management for function, project control and reporting via EV / EAC monitoring Resource management of engineering functions Technical point of contact and liaison point for key customer organisations Technical interface and management of programme’s contractors & sub-contractors Configuring and maintaining performance measures and matrices for the above Establishing and implementing the process improvement across engineering and the business as agreed with the Heads of Business and Heads of Function Candidate Requirements Proven technical expertise and management on defence programmes and with knowledge and experience of other related disciplines A clear understanding of financial management and impacts on programmes Experience and knowledge of managing and motivating a group of engineers with varying and diverse skill sets Working with the development team providing technical solutions with a high degree of ingenuity and creativity Able to use process from a varied ‘tool box’ of problem solving techniques Able to facilitate problem solving within a team environment Have the gravitas to be recognised as main point of contact of programme engineering issues for the programmes Able to exercises latitude in determining programme structure and engineering management approach Able to undertake the day to day management and motivation of a team of engineers over the duration of the assignment Confident and competent in a “customer facing” role, representing the organisation as the engineering contact on contracts and projects Able to interact with senior external personnel on significant engineering matters often requiring coordination between organisations Demonstrable experience over a range of programmes in the defence or other relevant sectors and business areas Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, Aeronautical Engineering or other related field Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance as a minimum (RSL will sponsor as required) About Raytheon UK With facilities in Broughton, Waddington, Glenrothes, Harlow, Gloucester and Manchester, Raytheon UK is invested in the British workforce and the development of UK technology.
