NORFOLK FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE Operational Support Technician Thetford Fire Station Salary Scale D £18,795 to £19,171 pa 37 hours per week Job Ref: 109-032020-CJD Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service are looking for an Operational Support Technician to carry out all aspects of basic grounds and property maintenance, miscellaneous equipment testing and maintenance, and to provide logistical support. You will have practical skills as your activities will include carrying out basic repairs and maintenance of premises and associated grounds including grass cutting, strimming, painting and decorating, minor plumbing and carpentry tasks. You will be responsible for escorting contractors whilst on site, and will ensure that they are made aware of health and safety requirements and work accordingly. You will provide support for delivering and collecting items on behalf of the Service, provide Stores support when required and assist with office moves and constructing/installing items such as office furniture. You will be customer focused, an effective communicator and be able to deal competently and appropriately with queries. IT literate, well organised and methodical, you will have good problem solving skills and be able to work on your own initiative. A team player you will be able to work under pressure and be flexible in providing support as required. This is a public-facing role and it is essential to have the ability to converse easily with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
