Community Engagement Officer - Carneddau Landscape Partnership Scheme Based at Snowdonia National Park Office, Penrhyndeudraeth (and other satellite offices within the project area) About Us Snowdonia National Park Authority protects the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of Snowdonia National Park. The Carneddau Landscape Partnership (CLP) Scheme is a five year programme seeking to conserve the threatened heritage of the Carneddau by increasing the understanding and enjoyment of the cultural and natural heritage of the area. We’re looking for a Community Engagement Officer to support the success of this Scheme and join us on a five year fixed-term contract. The Benefits - Salary of £24,799 - £26,999 per annum - Work in one of the UK’s most beautiful sites - Friendly and supportive environment - Support the success of an exciting project The Role As the Community Engagement Officer, you will raise awareness of the CLP Scheme with local communities and help to create community-led initiatives that will contribute to the Scheme’s objectives. Specifically, you’ll support the implementation of targeted wellbeing and education activities to encourage people to learn about the importance of the Carneddau landscape and the role they can play in safeguarding its future. About You To join us as Community Engagement Officer, you will need: - The ability to undertake the requirements of this role through the medium of Welsh and English - Experience of managing community capacity building projects, co-ordinating volunteer-led initiatives and managing or working with a community group - Previous experience of working with young people - A good understanding of the factors that contribute to social inclusion and wellbeing in diverse communities - An understanding of National Parks, environmental and heritage issues and countryside management - A degree or equivalent in Community Development, Youth and Community Studies or a relevant subject - A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle Other organisations may call this role Community Development Officer, Community Project Co-ordinator, Volunteering Co-ordinator, Community Engagement Co-ordinator, Outreach Officer, Community Services Co-ordinator, or Community Project Officer.
