IT Solutions Architect Role - can be based Newcastle, Edinburgh or Maidenhead This is a customer facing role, responsible for providing end-to-end technical guidance and expertise, and for developing comprehensive technical and service based solutions for both new and existing customers. Working closely with the Sales teams, Operations, and the Customer to develop appropriate solutions against requirements and Pulsant’s capabilities and ensure and seek approval for the solutions being proposed. The Solution Architect acts as the gateway between Sales and Operations, ensuring that the solutions proposed are deliverable and meet the customers’ needs at the price point that is competitive. Key Responsibilities: • Co-operate and work closely with the Sales Teams and their own team members to ensure efficient, productive and high quality technical and service solutions. • Interface with the customer to understand their business requirements and also foresee and plan for future infrastructural growth and business opportunities. • Work closely and co-operatively with the Operations to ensure appropriate solution design and delivery capability. • Understand best practices in regards to solution design in terms of performance, scalability, availability, security, manageability, adaptability and foremost quality. • Pay thorough attention to the economical dimension of solution design to ensure Pulsant are delivering sound propositions to customers. • Partake in the development of new service offerings. • Keep up to date with new and current technologies and approaches. Skills & Experience • Proven commercial experience as a Solutions Architect in the IT / Technology sector. Preferably in cloud, colocation, hosting or managed service industry. • Extensive demonstrable experience in designing complex integrated solutions to deliver against the customer requirement, utilising Cloud, Network, and Managed Hosting services and technologies. • Comprehensive commercial and business knowledge and experience. • Detailed understanding and experience of enterprise network technologies and their application in multi-site datacentre organisations. • Professional sales training and sales process knowledge • Excellent understanding of all Cloud service technologies (Private and Public), managed hosting, network and colocation services and the impact it has in a business environment. • Deep understanding of VMWare, Windows Server and Linux products and solutions, and their application in Cloud (inc.
