Lead District Energy Engineer job, London, Tier 1 global consultancy Your new company This leading global built environment consultancy offers a comprehensive range of design, consultancy, and management services for some of the largest and most high-profile projects across the globe. Their established UK business includes a leading team of engineers focused on decentralised power and urban energy. Projects include energy centres, district heating and cooling, thermal storage, CHP, biomass, and hydrogen systems. Sectors include aviation, higher education, major mixed-use, workplaces, local authorities, defence, leisure, and industrial. Working from a brand new, well appointed, and spacious office in central London containing several hundred engineers of all disciplines, as well as many more professionals in other disciplines. Your new role You will be involved with urban and decentralised energy projects at all design and construction stages. Including from early stage master-planning to full system design. You will regularly work with clients and other industry professionals. You will attend and survey sites, research viable technologies to reduce energy consumption, and assist with bids. You will also contribute to the development of low carbon and climate change policies, used across the organisation to influence other projects. What you'll need to succeed You will have experience of the design of localised heat and energy networks, supplying a variety of different building types. You will have a strong understanding of both the mechanical and electrical technologies used in these systems, and be confident in recommending appropriate and workable engineering solutions. You will have some understanding of work winning, and be able to support bidding. You will have a strong understanding, and an interest, in the sustainability issues related to built environment.
