Your new role If you are highly organised, work well under pressure and enjoy coordinating and planning, the role of Head of Property and Projects for Delfont Mackintosh Theatres could be ideal for you. You will be responsible for the senior leadership and development of services and processes that support the core business. You will ensure that best practice is followed for maximum efficiency and be passionate about delivering the highest standard of environmental 'experience' for audiences, artists and staff alike. The role requires an individual with excellent communication skills, who has a good understanding of historic building construction, building control, listed building consents and licencing complexities. You will be able to effectively direct procurement of small works contracts, manage consultant teams on larger projects, oversee maintenance programmes and the supervision of the in-house team. You will be responsible for running the day to day operations of the department and the delivery of safe property management services to the group. You will have direct line management responsibility for a team of six: Deputy Head of Properties and Projects, Contract and Project Manager, Theatre Asset Manager, CAFM Administrator, FF&E Co-ordinator and projects Administrator, and oversee a wider team of eleven staff in total. Through direct management of the asset management function you will be responsible for: 1) MAINTENANCE: Establish appropriate maintenance standards and detailed processes including the management of the Forward Maintenance Register, which includes life cycle works, re-roofing, air-conditioning, major redecorations, both external and internal, of all properties. Ensure a consistent best practice comprehensive maintenance function across all eight theatres and other DMT properties. 2) CAPITAL PROJECTS: Be responsible for the successful delivery of all building projects and refurbishment work working closely with all departments and operational Heads. 3) BUDGET: Oversee the delivery of all maintenance and project works operating within agreed budgets in liaison with the Chief Financial Officer. The preparation of annual budgets incorporating the Forward Maintenance Register, a reactive maintenance element, major items of plant renewal, small project works and maintenance contracts. 4) STAFFING: The delivery of an effective staffing structure that works to provide excellent quality of service across the range of buildings and services with particular attention to the uninterrupted delivery of theatre performances. You will oversee the development and implementation of medium to long-term strategic plans and policies for the properties. What you'll need to succeed You must be a property professional with significant experience in the management of listed buildings. You will have significant senior management experience in an operational role gained ideally at a high quality public facing organisation. Preferably you will have a degree in Estates Management or similar, plus hold a project management and health and safety (i.e. IOSH or NEBOSH) qualification. You must have extensive experience in managing teams and projects as well as dealing with consultants and sub-contractors with a strong focus around quality, compliance and cost-effectiveness. You must have very good communication and stakeholder management skills. In addition to this, you must be a confident people manager with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and deploy resources available to you in the most effective way What you'll get in return You will receive a salary of £85,000 - £115,000 per annum depending on experience, and an attractive benefits package including a discretionary bonus, five weeks' paid holiday plus Bank Holidays, theatre tickets to most productions at DMT theatres, and a generous pension contribution.
