Overview

A leading independent hospital located in South East Kent are recruiting for an Anaesthetic Practitioner to perform operating department duties working with the Team Leader and assisting the Consultants and work colleagues in a professional manner to ensure the smooth running, efficiency and high standards of patient care and safety. Key responsibilities: To be accountable in the participation of operational manning and decision making process at theatre level To organise a smooth efficient work pattern within the theatres To participate as a scrub member of the theatre team and to carry out safety checks on swabs, instruments, blades, needles etc To assist in the preparation of theatre instruments To provide assistance to the Consultant Surgeon and Anaesthetist as anaesthetic assistant To comply with theatre safety and operational policies in relation to swabs, instruments, blades and needles counts, storage and administration of drugs, diathermy and radiation To administer controlled drugs in accordance with the Spencer Private Hospitals policy To report promptly any accidents, incidents, complaints or unplanned occurrences to the Theatre Liaison Manager, Team Leader or Matron To maintain suitable standards of hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness in one's work and the environment To participate in emergency call duties where applicable It is essential that you are HPC Registered, have the ability to assess, plan and evaluate patient care; knowledge of research and evidence based practice, knowledge of CQC plus demonstrate knowledge and application of Anaesthetics and Orthopaedics. Working 37.5 hours a week based in Margate Kent. The company offer a superb range of benefits.
