Overview
A new vacancy has arisen for a Commercial Underwriter to join a major insurance company within the office based in Leeds. You will be responsible for underwriting commercial risks from a designated panel of intermediaries within agreed levels, to achieve profitable growth in line with company and branch objectives. You will underwrite new and existing business in line with established underwriting practice and give underwriting support to account managers as and when required. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing business relationships with intermediaries and actively encourage the generation of profitable new business. Applicants applying for this vacancy must have previous commercial property/liability underwriting experience gained within an insurer or having had delegated underwriting authority within a broker. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work on your own initiative and within a team. Progress towards industry qualifications preferred.
