As our Sorting Line Team Leader, you will be part of a team who are considered to be innovative and leaders in their field of Resource Management. The ideal candidate will assist in the day to day operation of the Sorting Line recycling plant under the direction of the Area Supervisor. In this "hands-on" role, the successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work with a "no compromise" attitude to health and safety. You will have previous experience in assisting in the management of people. Basic mechanical knowledge in maintaining a processing plant in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience of production operations with some knowledge of waste processing; however, training and development will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the necessary skills and aptitude to take on this challenging role. Main responsibilities will include; Carrying out daily quality control checks of waste. Ensure the recycling plant operations are managed in line with Levenseat standards and Health & Safety legislation. Ensure all plant maintenance, cleaning & inspections are carried out and recorded as per company and manufactures instructions and procedures. Training will be given on specialised plant. Ensuring compliance with all company work practices as directed and assisting with the general operation as required. Housekeeping duties around the site and building in accordance with the supervisor's instruction, keeping the workplace tidy and free from debris. Take responsibility for co-workers and own H&S, report all incidents and near misses. To supervise the team in the day to day operations of the plant in accordance with the site licence and contractual conditions. Data collection and recording. Ensuring that all plant is maintained in a clean condition. Any defect affecting the safe working order of a machine to be reported immediately. Ensuring that the team wear correct Personal Protective Equipment, as provided by the Company, is worn at all times. The correct PPE must be worn at all times when handling waste materials. Remaining aware, at all times, of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety and for the Health and Safety of your work colleagues. Carrying out other tasks within your operational ability or for which you have received appropriate training, as and when required. Additional Information HOURS OF WORK Dayshift 00 am - 5.00 pm Monday - Friday (Daily half-hour Paid Lunch Break) Weekend shift may be required Possible future Requirements - 12hr shifts (6am-6pm) Average Working Week: 47.5 Hrs Requires Working on Bank Holidays (except Christmas Day and 1stJanuary) Plus, Optional Overtime as required by the company. Annual Holidays: 29 Days Dayshift/backshift weekly rota. 06:00am - 15:00pm Monday - Friday (dayshift) 15:00pm ­- 00:00am Monday- Friday (Backshift) Weekend shift may be required Essential Skills Experience working in a factory - process environment. Good communication skills at all levels. Supervisory knowledge and the ability to work as part of a team. Manual dexterity and physically fit. The ability to operate machinery in a safe manner. Numeracy & Literacy skills. An awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace. Full driving licence. Desirable Skills Experience in a regulated environment. Previous experience operating mobile plant. Experience in risk management. Knowledge of waste/recycling industry. The ability to identify different types of waste.
