E-zec Medical Transport service is a family run Company focussed on delivering high quality, safe, effective ambulance transportation for patients to and from a healthcare setting. Founded in 1998 E-zec is the largest independent ambulance provider that operates solely and exclusively in the patient transport sector. E-zec currently employs more than 1400 employees and operate a fleet of 550 vehicles. E-zec hold 14 NHS NEPTS contracts across the UK. Due to continued expansion, E-zec Medical Transport Services are now looking to recruit a Permanent Contract Dispatcher for our non-emergency patient transport operation in the Banes, Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire areas. About the Role: As a Planner you will be responsible for planning and controlling the daily movement of the medically eligible patients to and from NHS Healthcare facilities. We are looking for someone to work 40 hours a week across a flexible variable shift pattern within the operational hours of 07:00 to 23:00. Your duties will include: Planning and controlling of daily ambulance journeys transporting medically eligible patients to and from NHS healthcare facilities using the Cleric Computer System. Controlling a complex operation consisting of over 75 ambulances delivering 550 patient journeys per day. To liaise with control and operational managers to resolve any vehicle resource deficiencies to meet service and contractual demands. To relay information to driving crews to enable them to transport patients with different abilities/mobilities to clinical and non-clinical appointments with dignity and care and aided when required. To constantly review patient journeys and re-allocate staff and vehicle resources by utilising vehicle tracking systems to meet contractual requirements. PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential criteria Experience of working in similar transport control environment Good telephone manner Good computer skills and knowledge of Excel and Word. Be customer service focused and able to effectively handle sensitive situations Be able to stay calm under pressure Ability to take initiative Working effectively as a part of the team Desired criteria Experience of dispatching and planning NEPTS journeys Good knowledge and understanding of the geographical area covered MIS patient transport system.
