Overview

Data Science Manager - Retail Giant - £105k bonus car I am pleased to be working with a true British retail giant. These have a digital first, high tech strategy and are significantly investing in their Data Science & Analytics Function. As such, they are looking for a Data Science Manager with the ability to not on solve business problems, but also sniff them out and take a hands on approach to leading end to end data science projects. The Data Science Manager would join a team of 10 (growth plans to 17 this financial year) and working across all business functions (Marketing, Merchandising, Logistics etc) to deliver actionable data science solutions. This will see the Data Science Manager acting as the bridge between the business and the team, leading project resources of up to 5 Data Scientists and talking a hands on role writing production level code, producing predictive & descriptive analytics and always keeping an eye on opportunities for automation and democratization. REQUIREMENTS STEM educated from a reputable University Ability to demonstrate successful experience in a similar role as a Data Science Manager or Principal Data Scientist leading teams through the end to end data science project lifecycles resulting in significant value adds for the business(es) A deep understanding of statistical modelling, predictive analytics and Machine Learning techniques Your Machine Learning tool box will include a variety of algorithms including Supervised & Unsupervised learning models, Logistic Regression,. Linear Regression,. SVM, Naïve Bayes, Knn, K-Means, Boost Models, Tree based models etc Skills with SQL & NoSQL DBs Ability to write production code in Python & a selection of languages such as R, Java etc Previous experience with Spark for deploying data science projects Experience with distributed systems such as Hadoop Ecosystem, DataBricks, BigQuery etc Expert in mining large & complex data sets - both structured & unstructured and including extraction of data , transformation and application OFFER Base Salary up to £105,000 Bonus Car Allowance28 days holiday Pension Life Assurance 20% instore/Online discount Vouchers/Discounts And more… COMPANY Your new employer has a truly global presence with over 80,000 employees and turnover in the £billions.
