Overview
Trust in Soda is working with one of the UK's largest media publishers, encompassing an award-winning portfolio of 7 national titles, 130 regional titles and over 500 digital products. Over the last few years the business has experienced phenomenal online growth and their digital portfolio alone reaches nearly 140m unique users and overall the business generates revenues well in excess of £600m and solid profits. They are now looking to expand the data team with a Data Engineer on a 6-month contract working alongside a fantastic analytical team. What you will need: o Experience building big data infrastructure, data ingestion and modelling pipelines (AWS ideally o Experience developing in Scala, or similar languages o Experience designing and building scalable APIs o Experience with relational as well as NoSQL databases, and modern storage tools like Athena, Redshift and BigQuery o Experience with modern data processing tools (i.e. Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or equivalents)
