Job Description As part of Together's modernisation and transformation journey and our ambition to develop a data enabled business for the future, we are looking to recruit an experienced Data Governance professional with a key focus on increasing confidence and trust in data integrity across the organisation through the introduction of an effective Data Governance framework. Reporting into the Head of Data & BI, the Data Governance Lead will be responsible for the initial design of a DAMA aligned framework commensurate with the scale, complexity and needs of the Together Group. Once designed the framework is to be established and developed to adapt to the changing needs of the organisation. To be considered, you will hold extensive experience within Data Governance and act as an ambassador for effective Governance, with the ability to bring thought and change leadership to the role. You'll have experience in, ideally, a financial services or regulated business with a value driven, pragmatic approach to help drive a change in organisational culture. Responsibilities: Create and manage the Data Governance framework for the Together Group, aligned to DAMA principles; Establish and maintain Data ownership & stewardship across the Group; Establish & maintain a Data Governance Forum / Committee operating at an appropriate level across the Group; Define and maintain policies, standards and processes to operationalise Data Governance across the business; Oversight and reporting of Data Risk as defined within the Enterprise Risk Framework, including the development and rollout of appropriate controls; Delivery of the data governance change plan across the group, providing thought and change leadership to all levels of the organisation whilst challenging the status-quo; Represent Data & BI at key governance and change definition forums to ensure data requirements are reflected in business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Qualifications Essential experience: Significant experience of developing and implementing a Data Governance Framework in a similar organisation; ideally a Financial Services or regulated business; Significant Data Governance definition / delivery experience; Significant knowledge of the Data Management Association (DAMA) framework, in-particular the development and application of Data Governance frameworks; Relevant technical knowledge spanning Data Governance/Management technologies with the ability to identify technology solutions to meet requirements when purpose specific/specialist tools are not available; Strong SQL & data literacy skills with the ability to work with less data literate customers to achieve required outcomes; Change leadership skills with the ability to set an agenda and convince others to follow - a proven ability to influence people and challenge the status-quo; Knowledge of enterprise risk management practices within a regulated industry.
