Overview

Engineering Operations / Production Manager required for a dynamic manufacturing business based near Swaffham. This is a fantastic opportunity to play an integral and lead role in the further development of an already well-established and successful business who manufacture specialist products for a wide variety of sectors. Working as part of the Senior Management Team, this role provides leadership and support to a small and experienced production team. Whilst you will provide strategic & technical engineering expertise to the senior team, you will also work closely with the production staff to review workflow, quality standards and plant maintenance, leading with a hands on approach as and when required. The role offers a high degree of autonomy so would suit those that like to take control and make a difference. Key Responsibilities of the role: Working closely with the Managing Director, assist in the planning and implementation of new strategies, major projects and Capital improvements Ensure production targets and forecasts are being achieved and orders fulfilled efficiently and to schedule Ensure a robust quality management system is in operation, ensuring all documentation and production calculations are recorded accurately Oversee all areas of people management including training, performance management and cost control Oversee all aspects of stock control ensuring ordering systems are working and correct levels of raw materials are maintained Oversee all aspects of plant maintenance, playing a key role in the engineering of new plant & equipment Required skills & Experience: Demonstrate a proven track record of management within a manufacturing or production setting Demonstrate an understanding of wider business management processes with an ambition to be part of a progressive senior management team Progressive management style prepared to lead from the front with a can-do attitude Good working knowledge of plant engineering and maintenance issues A strong communicator who works logically and systematically Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively Analytical mind-set and capable of driving continuous improvement, by implementing production plans and SLA’s Ideally educated to degree level or HND qualification in Engineering Remuneration: Competitive salary relative to experience Bonus linked to business performance Contributory pension scheme Great working hours with early finish on a Friday 25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays Onsite parking If you are looking for your next challenge and want to join a dynamic local business where your experience could make a difference, then we want to hear from you.
