Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cosmetic Scientist to join a growing consumer goods company. With an already successful product in the market, they are looking to extend their product range to cosmetics. As cosmetic scientist you will conduct research on cosmetic ingredients to ensure they are in line with company research goals. You must have previous experience in the formulation of cosmetics, consumer goods or related products. Responsibilities Conducting research on cosmetics ingredients to provide evidence-based evaluations of efficacy. Maintenance of cosmetics products and ingredients database. Assist in improving the cosmetics algorithm recommendation system through understanding of how cosmetic ingredients negatively impact the body. Writing and maintaining protocols for product recommendation systems Collaboration with Software Engineering team and contributing to the development of algorithms for the recommendation of DNA-personalised products. Strengthening the knowledge of environmental and lifestyle impacts on the skin and hair health. Testing of App prototype to ensure compliance to testing protocol. Monitoring European cosmetics guidelines and labelling legislation. Competencies: Broad knowledge across skin and haircare range and the function of their ingredients. Adaptable to a constantly changing environment deadlines. Excellent attention to detail Good time management and ability to prioritise multiple deadlines Creative problem-solving skill Ability to analyse large datasets and identify patterns. Good Initiative and can work independently Good Communication skills to be able to collaborate with a team coming from a diverse background and industries. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and database software. Requirements: BSc degree, (or equivalent experience) in a Chemistry related discipline. Previous experience conducting formulation development within a Consumer Healthcare, Pharmaceutical or Cosmetic company would be beneficial. Desirables: Previous experience working in other cosmetics or toiletries range.
