Overview

Traffic Management & Control Engineer £15.81ph/£117pd - (Inside IR35) 3 Months Mon- Fri - 37 Hours To ensure that the Traffic Regulations Orders that support highway and on-street enforcement are fit for purpose, comply with the relevant legislation, are maintained and reflect the needs of residents and travelling public. To work closely with and support Trading Standards colleagues who have responsibility for enforcement of moving traffic offences such as Weight and Vehicle type restrictions. Key Responsibilities Review the existing TRO’s and implement on-street or TRO changes to reflect the reality of on-street parking in the CPZ’s Investigate complaints and enquires relating to all the implementation of TRO’s and application of civil enforcement in these areas. Assist in the design, implementation and review of new parking or traffic restrictions in Oxfordshire, in particular CPZs. Have a strong relationship with Councillors, both County, City and Town / Parish Review and design solutions to local traffic problems, related to Oxford City and CPZ’s, including parking and speed limit issues. Undertake informal consultations, attend site meetings with stakeholders, and prepare and present reports to committees. Provide technical advice to other Councils on the development and implementation TRO’s to support parking enforcement across the County Identify and develop traffic sign and road marking maintenance and improvement needs to support Civil Parking Enforcement. Prepare work details, specifications, bills of quantities, contract documents, and orders for relevant works. Represent the Service as required at meetings or committees, including outside of normal hours.
