Overview

Children Support Worker Taskmaster are currently looking to recruit Children Support Workers to become members of the residential team for one of our clients. Working with up to 20 pupils and responsibility for 5 pupils; the suitable applicant will be expected to make a real and positive impact to the lives of children who have a range of care needs, as well as life experiences and personalities that makes every day varied and interesting. Responsibilities and duties: Be a member of the care team, involved in all aspects of the effective and safe running of the residential provision of the school. Manage pupil behaviour effectively, under the guidance of the team leaders and in accordance with the school's policies. Provide and supervise activities for pupils outside the school day. Attend care meetings and other whole school staff meetings. Liaise effectively with teaching, counselling and other care colleagues. To have personal support worker responsibility for up to five pupils. To liaise effectively and regularly with parents. To attend annual reviews of the statement and social services statutory reviews for pupils, as required. To contribute to the writing of house development plans for school budget planning. To work within the guidance included in the staff handbook. To carry out other reasonable duties, as directed by the principal, within the level of responsibility and commensurate with the grading of the post. Previous experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties is desired. A valid driving licence is required as our school is split between two sites. Specification: Effectively managing difficult and challenging behaviour in children and young people. Work closely and cooperatively with colleagues from a variety of professional disciplines. Communicate effectively in both verbal and written form. Demonstrate a commitment to equality for all staff and pupils. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
