Overview

The memcom recruitment team are looking for two Information Governance Officers to have the day-to-day responsibility for the policies, procedures, standards and guidance which cover data quality and protection, GDPR, information compliance and security and records management of a professional institute based in Central London. The IG Officers will deputise for the Head of Information Services on all IG and data protection issues and play an active role in the IG Management Group, supporting the delivery of services as required. Working with the Head of Information Services you will provide advice on the development and implementation of policies, procedures and good practice guidelines, working across the Institute to ensure consistency of approach to IG, as well as maintain Asset and Risk Registers, and regularly report back to the IG Management Group on all information risk management activities. Ensuring the creation and management of full and accurate records required to support business functions and meet legal and regulatory requirements, you will also work closely with IT colleagues pertaining to the storage of electronic records and data, both temporary and permanent, and oversee the transfer of records to the Institute’s archives. The successful candidate will essentially be a skilled project manager with strong knowledge of legal and statutory record keeping requirements and best practice, as well as tangible experience of current best-practice in information management. You will be familiar with ISO 15489 and/or DIRKS, the TNA Standard for Record-keeping and have prior experience of completing information governance assessments. Experience of organisational change or carrying out service reviews is a bonus.
