As a System Administrator working within a modern software and service company, you’ll be responsible for the management, monitoring and continuous improvement of our customers’ infrastructure. Reporting to the Delivery Manager, you will be well-versed in all aspects of Microsoft Windows administration for the enterprise and have the ambition to maintain your expertise in the areas of systems administration, enterprise cloud transformation (IaaS and PaaS), network management, disaster recovery strategy and service/security monitoring. You will be encouraged to learn from and build on your skillset via on-the-job training, peer-mentoring and technical review. With at least two year's commercial experience working as a Windows system administrator, you should be committed to upholding the reliability, availability and security of servers under your control and have the confidence to communicate policies and procedures to customers, suppliers and other staff in the department. Pragmatic to the changing responsibilities of a system administrator in a cloud-obsessed industry, you’ll be positive and flexible to perform cross-disciplinary technical tasks and work closely alongside agile software development teams to deliver cost-clever solutions to our customers. Essential Requirements Expert knowledge of system administration for Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 including active directory management, group policy and scripting languages (PowerShell). Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, TLS and other common stacks as they apply to the Windows operating system. Provision, management and support of Windows Remote Desktop Services, especially with reference to ‘highly available’ Windows Server 2016 RDS farms. Exposure to Microsoft Azure for server and network administration or equivalent experience with other competing cloud-enabled architectures. Working knowledge of WDS/MDT and WSUS. Produce and maintain standard gold images and have a good understanding of software update and security management for an enterprise desktop and laptop estate. Knowledge of the deployment of Office365 applications/configurations and experience with enterprise deployments of legacy versions of Microsoft Office and its common dependencies. Willing to provide support and work outside core hours both as part of a rota and under a flexible working policy. Desirable Experience managing on premise infrastructure (servers, rack management, switches, routers, firewalls, VPNS, access points etc.) Experience of working within agile development teams and working with continuous delivery processes and tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, YAML, Azure IaaS etc.) Configuration of the DFS namespace for distributed file systems.
