Buying role| Leeds| Temporary for up to 6 months Your new company An opportunity to join the procurement team of a central government organisation that are based in Leeds has arisen. Initially for a period of up to 6 months but this may turn into a permanent opportunity. Your new role Based within the Leeds office, the procurement and contracts team sits within the finance directorate. You will maintain develop the organisations policies relating to procurement ensuring a standard approach is taken across the board. You will also: Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring implementation and evaluation of procurement projects by providing high quality procurement support Ensure accurate and open communication and co ordination with a range of organisation and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks Be a key member of the team as well as supporting effective communication on key procurement information and stakeholder management, both internally and externally Undertake small/low value procurement's as necessary Manage and report the procurement pipeline to both internal and external stakeholders Assist the Senior Procurement and Contracts Manager in the development of standard procurement processes and documentation What you'll need to succeed You will posses Clear communication and writing skills as well as presentation skills to construct and deliver clear ideas and concepts Develop training materials for staff The ability to analyse and interpret information, pre-empt and evaluate issues Skills for managing procurement projects ensuring they meet financial targets The ability to work on your own initiative and organise workloads Experience and understanding of procurement best practices and principles Experience in communications and stakeholder management Comprehensive knowledge of procurement Knowledge of public sector and EU procurement rules and regulations What you'll get in return A competitive hourly rate, 35.5 hour working week and the potential for the role to turn into a permanent placement.
