Overview

Job Title: Project Manager (Retail Construction / Refurbishment) Location: Based from Glasgow, G5 0US head office but with travel required throughout Scotland, North East England and occasionally Northern Ireland Salary: Competitive salary car or £5,700 car allowance, annual bonus of up to 10% of basic salary, BUPA Healthcare, pension, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) Hours: 40 hours a week - Monday to Friday Our client is one of the UK’s leaders in providing innovative construction and engineering solutions for clients within a variety of sectors including Retail, Health, Education and Commercial. They are now looking to recruit a Project Manager who will be mainly working on refurbishment projects with a national supermarket retailer. The role will be based from our client’s head office building in Glasgow, G5 0US but there will be travel involved around Scotland, North East England and occasionally Northern Ireland, so there will be occasional overnight stays. Role likely to be around 60% based in Glasgow Head office and 40% visiting Project Sites. Job Purpose: To manage the planning, resource allocation and procurement processes to effectively deliver projects throughout a defined region within agreed timescales and budget. Key Accountabilities: - Supervising the quality of works throughout the project and handing over a snag free building Regular liaison with clients and design team Maintaining high productivity and quality of workmanship Day to day operational planning and problem solving Providing leadership and support to staff Strong leadership and decision-making skills and the ability to respond to change Working closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor, providing the necessary input for reporting purposes Ensuring compliance with the company QMS Reporting contractual risk situations to Account Manager Developing the main logic of the works programme and to monitor and drive weekly progress Adhering to the Construction Phase H&S requirements ensuring the H&S Plan and File are provided Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Significant managerial experience within the commercial sector of the construction industry Experience of construction in a variety of sectors (ideally including retail) and managing projects with a value of between £0.5-1.5m Experience of continuous professional development throughout career Strong understanding of technical issues and trends in the construction sectors Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to build strong relationships at all levels Client focussed approach Valid CSCS CARD (Level 5) SMSTS First Aid and Health and Safety Training Highly proficient IT user (including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) To apply for this role please submit a full and up to date CV to Daniel Murphy at PDA SEARCH & SELECTION LIMITED .
