Position: Graduate Maritime Consultant (GIS/Data Analyst) Location: Southampton, UK The role… Faststream are working exclusively with a young and exciting maritime consultancy. We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic analyst with a strong analytical, GIS, and/or mathematical capability to join the core team delivering marine, shipping and navigation consultancy projects across offshore renewables, oil and gas and the ports/maritime sectors. Your role will involve data analysis using proprietary software including GIS applications, risk and safety modelling using specialist tools and software, risk assessment and report writing. On a typical project you may be analysing and interpreting maritime vessel traffic datasets to characterise shipping traffic and you'll be interfacing with maritime professionals, stakeholders and environmental and engineering decision makers on potential navigation impacts of maritime operations and infrastructure development projects. You'll be working on analytical tasks independently and cross functionally with my clients team of mariners, harbour masters and technical specialists to bring together the skills and capabilities of the wider team. You will start where you have most experience and skills, and gradually build out your expertise across their services and sectors. A maritime interest will be valued although a willingness to learn is key and appropriate training and development support will be provided as part of a tailored career progression plan.
