Financial Lines Account Manager - Corporate Insurance

Aston Charles Ltd ,
Leicester, Leicestershire
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £30,000 per annum

Overview

This is a superb opportunity for an experienced insurance professional to really make a name for themselves in the fascinating Financial Lines niche. This is a senior role within a specialist Team that is recognised as a UK Financial Lines Centre of Excellence for a global broker. Its portfolio includes complex clients from a wide range of industry sectors (both blue and white collar), from Construction risks through to Financial Institutions and everything in between. In addition to looking after clients held within the branch, it also offers assistance to other offices from across the UK, as well as offering a wholesaling service to partner brokers that may struggle to place and manage niche Financial Lines risks. As Account Manager, you will play a key part in the support of clients from across the company’s Financial Lines portfolio. A highly visible role, you will work in close conjunction with Branch Management, Account Directors and Senior Brokers, using your expert knowledge of the sector to ensure excellent client service is delivered at all times. You will be responsible for helping with renewals, processing mid-term amendments, and preparing presentations and other documentation for insurers, colleague and other stakeholders. You will help with carrier relations, developing an understanding of who has an appetite for specific risks, and use your gravitas in the market to secure the most comprehensive cover at competitive premiums. You will also act as a 'Financial Lines Ambassador’ within the business, helping out less-experienced colleagues on both a formal and ad-hoc basis. Whilst this is by no means a business development role, you may be asked to help with the placement of accounts won by colleagues in the sales team. Whilst you need not be working exclusively in Financial Lines, or indeed currently recognized as an expert in the field, it is essential that you have a knowledge of relevant covers such as Cyber, D&O, Pension Trustees’ Liability etc. Ideally, this will have been gained in a corporate environment, and you can demonstrate experience of dealing with larger and more complex cases. Whilst by no means essential, progress made towards professional qualifications under the CII would add significant weight to your application. You must be able to multitask, work on a number of projects at once, and deal with a variety of deadlines so it is essential that you are well-organised and have excellent time keeping skills. As you will be dealing with senior personnel from firms from a variety of industry sectors, you must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and be confident in your ability to build rapport with people from all walks of life. In return, you will receive a completely negotiable basic salary and comprehensive benefits package, including support with professional qualifications. For the ambitious, this role can lead to a variety of challenging new positions including technical, sales or managerial positions.
