Reporting Line Based in the Rochdale office you will report to a Mechanical Design Lead Engineer and your primary roles and responsibilities are set out below:- General Responsibilities You will have responsibility for correctly interpreting and representing the design from concept stages through to detailed design. Specific areas of responsibility are therefore primarily to produce detailed design and coordinated drawings. In addition to this you should be aware of how this information can be utilised for safety, health and the environment whilst ensuring that it is produced and distributed in accordance with the company Quality Assurance system. Specific areas of responsibility are detailed: Design Health Safety and the Environment Quality Design In line with our core business, you would have a working knowledge and competence in producing detailed design information for building services for complex validated facilities, that meet cGMP and ISO 14644 requirements such as:. Research and QA / QC laboratories Sensitive research facilities Pilot scale manufacturing Full scale manufacturing Potent processing Sterile manufacturing You would be expected to work as an integral part of a multi-service design and installation team and be proactive in ensuring effective communication and production of high quality information. As part of this team, you will also play a role in the development of apprentices and junior engineers. As a CAD / Revit Technician you shall be fully conversant with the latest versions of AutoCAD & Revit and must be competent in using the following skills:- AutoCAD Creation of high quality schematic layout drawings from information conveyed to you from a Senior Design Engineer Presentation of High Quality Drawings Model Space/Paper Space Creating Viewports Scaling Viewport Using XREF’s Complying with the companies CAD procedures for drawing standards and production Layer Control Lineweights Blocks and Attributes Plot configuration Revit Creation of fully co-ordinated MEP services from information conveyed to you from a Senior Design Engineer to industry standards Be conversant with working with Central files Be conversant with working in a collaborative environment Having knowledge of content creation is an advantage, but not essential Have a good knowledge of BIM and BIM Processes & Standards Have knowledge of working with Templates, Titleblocks and shared parameters and project parameters Have an excellent understanding of view control using visibility graphics, view filters and view templates Have a good understanding of exporting models out of Revit into other formats for file exchanges Have excellent 2D drawing presentation skills to be able to comply with BES minimum standards In addition to authoring CAD drawings you should have good knowledge of the latest BIM standards and be conversant with practices conducive to working to a minimum of BIM Level 2 and have knowledge of the requirements of the levels of detail for working at differing RIBA stages. You must be IT literate and should be fully conversant with the Microsoft Office software suite. Where required you will also be requested to assist with the following:- Undertake detailed on-site surveys producing information that can be used for the creation of "As-Built" Revit models / 2D drawings Preparation of Documentation / Transmittals for statutory submission Be conversant with clash detection methods using either Revit or similar software such as Navisworks Safety, Health and the Environment You will have an excellent knowledge of current legislation, requirements and best practice and all design works should be in compliance. You would be competent in complying with CDM regulations especially the production of good quality design risk assessments and control measures. Quality You will be expected to deliver design information which is clear and of a standard suitable for efficient installation from in house tradesmen and specialist supply chain providers. You would be expected to work in line with our accredited quality assurance procedures ISO 9001 - 2015 Knowledge & Experience Minimum ONC relevant sector qualifications. Clean Full UK Driving Licence Experienced in production of design and co-ordination of turnkey projects including construction, HVAC, mechanical and electrical works. Experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets is preferred particularly in the construction of laboratories and cleanrooms. Conversant with ISO 9001 quality systems and procedures. Conversant with AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of the CDM regulations. Have at least five years’ experience of good working practice. Have a customer focus with the ability to generate high quality deliverables. Able to work as part of a team delivering a fully co-ordinated / integrated solution. Have good communication skills both written and verbal and be a team player, able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure be able to produce accurate detailed drawings and documentation.
