Would you like to develop key skills needed for employment and get your first insight into life at a transatlantic law firm? Work experience is an invaluable tool and we recognise the importance of gaining employability skills to kick start your career. Womble Bond Dickinson has a number of opportunities across each of our locations, to help you develop your skills and gain experience, as part of our early careers programme. Whether you're thinking about your GCSE's, completing your A-Levels or starting university, we have a variety of workshops and placements to introduce you to the work of a commercial law firm and to help you with your career choices. You'll do this through skills workshops, presentations and networking sessions which also allow you the opportunity to meet people from around our business. Our programmes – steps to success Inspire If you are age 14 or above, studying towards your GCSEs or equivalent, and would like to learn more about career opportunities and the skills needed for employment apply for our Inspire programme. Inspire offers two hour workshops throughout the year where you will be introduced to Womble Bond Dickinson, the range of careers available in a law firm and some of the skills that are important for your future. Insight If you are age 16 and above and studying for your A-Levels or equivalent apply for our Insight programme to learn more about Womble Bond Dickinson, career paths, and a variety of activities to build on your skills. In a jam-packed, yet fun and interactive day, you will have the opportunity to network with peers, meet colleagues from around the business and learn more about teamwork, negotiation, research and other important skills. Experience If you are aged 16 or above, studying towards your A-Levels or equivalent, and looking to secure your first work experience our Experience programme may be for you. Experience offers the opportunity to spend a number of days with a variety of teams across the business – not only gaining experience in your desired career but experience of a business and how teams successfully work together. Please note the Experience programme is not open to those with previous legal work experience, studying at university or graduated. Open Days If you are in the early stages of your degree or a graduate and considering a career in law join us on an open day to learn more about Womble Bond Dickinson. Taking part in group tasks and mock recruitment exercises the day will help you feel more confident with future assessment days and the skills needed at a commercial law firm. Other schools and organisations We work with a number of schools and organisations throughout the UK, delivering skills workshops, offering work experience programmes and attending careers events. Some examples of our current programmes and organisations we work with include PRIME, Pathways to Law, NE1 Can and Business in the Community.
