Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, forward thinking Machine Shop Manager to carry out the managing of the daily activities of running an engineering Service Centre at our client's site on the Wirral. This position is within a maintenance and installation company with large growth plans, meaning this is an excellent time to join such an ambitious and goal driven company. Your role will be to oversee a team of engineers on site, managing daily workload, client communication and tasks to the team, whilst ensuring that health and safety criteria is met at all times, and also travelling around the UK to visit client's sites may be required, ensuring the best possible service and rapport is built and managed effectively. The Machine Shop Manager's responsibilities are: Responsibility of the Health & Safety within the Service Centre and to the engineers Regular safety reviews and weekly meetings with the engineering team All Service Centre & site work jobs are handled from enquiry to closure on the companies Field Service CRM Scheduling / allocating jobs to engineers for works via Field Service CRM Ensuring jobs are kept within budget and delivered on time Good engineering skills are enforced within the engineering team Handling of all Service Centre & site work enquiries including sourcing supplier quotes, completing of customer quotations and ensuring the materials are ready for works Liaising with clients on progression of the jobs and allocation of works Creating of Risk Assessment and Method Statements for site works Updating and tracking of jobs within Field Service CRM Keeping efficiency within the service centre Ability and willingness to assist engineers at client's site as and when necessary Out of Hours point of contact on rota basis for call out support and engineering allocation National travel required The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar engineering role and, it is desirable to have a genuine interest in pumps or rotating equipment. In addition, the Machine Shop Manager will possess the following skills and experience: Management experience Experience in all areas of pumps including submersible, centrifugal, end suction pumps, HVAC equipment and general-purpose pumps is desirable Experience of working on an engineering shop floor Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to delegate and manage a team effectively, ensuring needs of the client is met and exceeded Full valid driving license Salary £35k, plus holidays and pension. Hours 8am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday (weekends may sometimes be required) Cordant Group is an equal opportunities employer
