Overview
We're looking for a brilliant Software Engineer to work for our client. They want to recruit a talented software professional with a background in industrial automation, preferably with experience of SCADA software. If that's you, and you can demonstrate a passion for solving complex technical problems across a variety of unique projects, then you could be exactly what they're looking for. Please note: . In this position you'll be required to work some weekends and occasionally cover on-call in unsociable hours. Full details of how this will work will be revealed at interview. The Role: Reporting to the Electrical Manager and based mostly in the company's Bristol office, as the Software Engineer you will be primarily responsible for cradle to grave management of the software elements of bespoke automation projects. You'll also be tasked with the following: - Production of risk assessments and method statements - Writing functional design specifications (FDS) - Production and modification of software (SCADA, HMI, PLC etc) - Client and subcontractor liaison as needed The Candidate: The ideal candidate for the Software Engineer role will have demonstrable, relevant experience of PLC software. You'll also need experience of HMI / SCADA systems and high level manufacturing projects. In addition, it's essential that you possess the following: - A recognised technical qualification (degree / HND / apprenticeship or similar) - Proven experience in a similar software project role - An appreciation of the pressures of manufacturing Does that sound like you?
