Job Summary: We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Senior Robotics Engineer to join our Research and Development Team and Engineering Services Team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work across both the research, sales and engineering teams, to be directly engaged with our clients, helping to develop and install innovative solutions in the field. Our team are genuinely interested in technology and love to get involved in finding novel answers to challenging problems. The role involves concept design, planning, developing and implementation of autonomous robotics solutions that takes our technologies to the next generation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (although not limited to): Solution creation and implementation using a selection of different robots Proof of concept, experimental design and execution Support and install of systems on site at customer locations Clear and concise communication to multiple levels within the organisation Review of customer requirements, internal designs and compliance with specifications Testing & validation of designs Failure investigations, independent thinking and problem solving Simulation work carried through to real world testing Qualifications/Experience: A degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Sciences or equivalent work experience At least 5 years of relevant work experience programming different types of robots, ideally having deployed them in industrial settings Demonstratable experience with Robotic Operating System (ROS) and rvis Experience with sensor integration with IMU, and ideally depth cameras (Kinnect etc) Strong algorithm development knowledge (Matlab, Python or C++) Experience in some or all of the following: ROS, image processing, robotics, machine vision, SLAM Experience with Unit Testing and Regression Testing Good experience with source control (SVN, GiT) Good team working ethic but able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision Meticulous attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Dedication to accomplishing project and company goals An understanding of practical application of conventional and advanced NDT inspection will be an advantage.
