This is an equity opportunity to join an independent SME smart energy technology business and the UK's leader in its specific field. Based in Warrington, this Finance Director role is an integral part of the UK business, and will be an influential member of the senior leadership team, working closely with the Managing Director and owners. This a succession planning appointment, if performance warrants progression, the Finance Director will be given the opportunity to step up into the MD role. The business works across multiple channels including some of the UK's largest organisations. Despite this impressive customer base, the culture and values remain true to those at the inception of the business, and the ability to remain agile and flexible has been key to continued success. About the role This Finance Director role is a true finance business partner. One of the key relationships is with the MD and will play a fundamental role increasing sales, profit and efficiency across the entire business. Visibility of this individual across the whole organisation is essential, from customer facing aspects, through to support functions. As a result, travel is initially expected to the other UK office in Berkshire c. 10 days per month. Whilst the role has a strong leaning to commercial finance, business partnering and decision support; it is a contract-led environment and so a desire to ensure best practice of process, control, and cash flow is also of utmost importance. Key responsibilities Overall management, coaching and development of the finance function including management accounts, financial accounts, transactional and CC Contract management is key to the business and so will form a significant part of the role Review of monthly accounts and performance with the MD Oversee Cash flow forecasts and plan cash management accordingly Decision support, commercial finance, budget & forecast Treasury management including invoice financing, banking relationships Management of audit, insurance and legal relationships Person profile ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified (5 years PQE) There will be a strong leaning towards corporate finance experience gained within a large practice, as well as private equity experience Experience within a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment closely linked with energy, smart tech or contract management would be highly beneficial Ability to nurture a culture of finance business partnering across all functions Previous experience managing all elements of a finance function Energy, enthusiasm and motivation to facilitate change and challenge existing practices Demonstrable experience of working with senior stakeholders in and out of finance Package £75,000-£85,000, equity, bonus, commensurate benefits BBBH14120
